Recently, I was fortunate enough to attend an editorial day at the stunning Elkins Estate in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. This day was an absolute dream from start to finish for so many reasons. Many of you know, I’m a huge fan of history and this Gilded Age mansion was everything I could’ve hoped for in a wedding venue. Every room was more gorgeous than the last and each had it’s own ornate little details for me to obsess over.
My word for 2023 was “Expand” and, for me, that meant pushing myself outside of my comfort zone in work and in life. Editorials are something I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with so I was hesitant to attend from the start. I’ll share my thoughts on Editorial/Styled Shoots another day but this day was definitely one filled with love and hate, unfortunately. The love comes from pushing myself wayyyy outside my comfort zone and heading all the way to Pennsylvania for a shoot. The love also comes from all I learned and took away from the shoot that I can now apply to my own future weddings and sessions.
The wonderful Laura Gares from East Coast Styled Shoots put together this content day and did the most incredible job. Her assembled team of vendors made sure every aspect of the shoot was thought of and carefully curated to a stunning degree. There were four parts to this gorgeous day and I am thrilled to share the “Peachy Keen” inspired shoot with you today!! As a Georgia native, this one is definitely an instant fave of mine!!
