It is always a joy to flex my creativity, especially during “slow” season. Editorials are one of my favorite ways to experiment with different ideas before using them at real weddings simply because I can. There is no pressure or timelines to adhere to and I don’t need to worry about ruining somebody’s big day. Kind of important to remember. That is precisely why I love attending “styled shoots” when I can.
They also provide a great source of inspiration to couple who are planning their own weddings! I have my first winter wedding next year and I cannot wait! But there are certainly a different set of challenges to a winter wedding versus a summer wedding. This “White Winter” styled shoot at the Farmhouse in Hampton, NJ was an excellent source of Winter Wedding vibes and allowed me some practice at focusing on interior portraits when exterior isn’t an option.
